She made her TV debut in an episode in the TV show McLeod s Daughter. Her first major work was her recurring role on the sci fi television series The 100. This was based upon a series of novels with the same title. She played Commander Lexa who was a formidable leader of 12 clans. On Fear the Walking Dead she performed the role of a powerful leader for twelve clans. The show has been highly praised by critics and receiving numerous awards. Jigsaw Girl as well as The Branch are other short films in which she's been featured. In the disaster film found-footage Into the Storm she made her debut as a feature film. The film was a success commercially, though reviews were mostly negative.
